String Ensemble

The RMIT String Ensemble had it’s humble beginnings as a trio, but it was not until in 2008 that the group grew to a respectable size. Over the years the group has grown and shrunk, but has always maintained a devoted following of musicians.

Our repertoire is a mix of various styles of music ranging from Early Renassaince to Modern Music. Often joining with some woodwind instruments to form a chamber ensemble to play early Baroque Style music.

It was not until 2012 did the current atmosphere of livly and energetic rehearsals began with our current Conductor.

RMIT String Ensemble is always seeking new musicians (who play Violin, Viola, Cello or Double Bass) to join and we welcome any skill level.
